Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how HyperTarget Marketing, LLC ("Detective Dental," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit detectivedental.com (the "Site") or call our toll-free dentist referral line (the "Service").
The short version: We collect the minimum information needed to help connect you with an independent dental office. We do not sell your information to unrelated third-party marketers, but we do share limited information with the dental office or call center we connect you with so they can help with your request. Calling us is free. You can stop calls or texts from us at any time by replying STOP or asking the agent to add you to our internal Do Not Contact list.
Contents
1. Who we are
The Site and Service are operated by HyperTarget Marketing, LLC, a Texas limited liability company. "Detective Dental" is a service mark of HyperTarget Marketing, LLC. We are a marketing and consumer-referral service. We are not a dental practice, dental insurer, or health-care provider. We do not provide dental care, diagnoses, or treatment.
2. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
a. Information you give us when you call the Service
- Your first name (and last name only if you choose to share it)
- Your phone number (to facilitate the referral connection)
- Your zip code or general location (to find a local dentist)
- The dental need you are calling about (e.g., emergency, cleaning, orthodontics)
- Whether you have dental insurance and, if so, the carrier (so we can match you to a participating practice)
We do not ask for your Social Security number, date of birth, financial account numbers, payment card details, or detailed medical history. If you choose to share any sensitive information voluntarily, we will treat it with reasonable care but recommend that you share that information directly with the dental practice instead.
b. Information collected automatically when you visit the Site
- IP address, device type, browser type, operating system
- Pages viewed, links clicked, time spent on pages
- Referring URL (the page that brought you to our Site)
- Approximate location derived from your IP address
- Cookie identifiers and similar tracking technologies (see Section 5)
c. Information from third parties
We may receive information from advertising and analytics partners (such as Google, Microsoft/Bing, and Meta) about how you interacted with our advertising. If you arrived from an affiliate publisher, we may receive the publisher's tracking ID and the source of the click.
3. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Help connect you with an independent dental office or call center near you that may be able to help with your request
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Site and Service
- Measure the performance of our marketing campaigns and partnerships
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service
- Communicate with you about your call (for example, to follow up if a connection failed) — only when you have given us permission to do so
We do not use information collected through the Service for unrelated marketing of third-party products.
4. When we share information
We share information only as described below:
a. With independent dental offices and call centers
To fulfill your referral request, we share limited information — generally your first name, phone number, ZIP code, and the dental need you described — with the independent dental office or call center we connect you with so they can help with your request. Once your information is with that dental office or call center, that organization's own privacy policy and applicable obligations (including HIPAA, where applicable) govern its use.
b. With service providers
We use trusted third-party service providers to operate our business, including telecommunications and call-tracking platforms, analytics tools, hosting providers, fraud-prevention services, and customer-relationship-management software. These providers are contractually limited to using your information only on our behalf.
c. With marketing partners
We may share limited call-routing and campaign-attribution information with marketing partners (such as call buyers, lead-distribution platforms, and affiliate publishers) so that we can route calls correctly and account for marketing performance. Where we share information for advertising purposes that may be considered "sharing" or "sale" under California or other state privacy law, you can opt out — see Section 9 and our California Privacy Notice.
d. With advertising partners (limited)
We use cookies and similar technologies to measure ad effectiveness on platforms like Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising. We may share hashed or aggregated identifiers (not your name or phone number) with these platforms to optimize campaigns and prevent showing ads to people who have already called us. See Section 5 and Section 8.
e. For legal reasons
We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to (i) comply with applicable law, regulation, subpoena, or legal process; (ii) protect the rights, property, or safety of HyperTarget Marketing, LLC, our users, or others; or (iii) investigate or prevent fraud or security issues.
f. In a business transfer
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to standard confidentiality protections.
We do not sell your information to unrelated third-party marketers. However, as described above, we do share limited information with the dental office, call center, or marketing partner we connect you with so they can help fulfill your referral request. If you do not want us to share your information for these purposes, do not call us or submit information through the Site.
5. Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies (such as pixels, web beacons, and local storage) to make the Site work, measure performance, and improve advertising efficiency. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect Site functionality.
Specific tools we may use include:
- Google Analytics 4 — to measure Site usage in aggregate
- Google Ads / Microsoft Advertising conversion tracking — to measure which ads drive calls
- Meta Pixel — only if we run social-media advertising; aggregated event data only
- Call-tracking platforms — to associate phone calls with the marketing campaign that produced them
You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on and manage advertising opt-outs at the DAA WebChoices tool and the NAI opt-out page.
6. Phone calls and recording
Calls to our toll-free line may be recorded or monitored for quality, training, and dispute resolution where permitted by law. Where required by state law, our agents will inform you that the call is being recorded at the start of the call and will obtain your consent to continue. You may decline to be recorded; in that case we may continue the call without recording or politely end the call. We retain call recordings for a limited period (generally up to 12 months) and store them with reasonable security. Calls may be routed to independent dental practices, call centers, or marketing partners.
7. SMS / text messages
We do not send unsolicited text messages. If you provide your phone number on a partner publisher form or to one of our agents and expressly consent, we (or the dental practice we refer you to) may send you transactional or appointment-related text messages. Standard message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to opt out, or reply HELP for help. We honor opt-out requests within ten (10) business days as required by FCC rules.
8. Your choices & rights
You can:
- Ask us to delete your information by emailing privacy@detectivedental.com
- Ask us to add your phone number to our internal Do Not Contact list
- Disable cookies in your browser
- Use the industry opt-out tools listed in Section 5
- Reply STOP to any SMS you receive from us
Our Site supports the Global Privacy Control (GPC). When we detect a GPC signal from your browser, we treat it as a request to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of your information for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law.
9. California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
California residents have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA). These include the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete personal information, the right to correct inaccurate personal information, the right to opt out of sale or sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. See our California Privacy Notice for details and submission methods.
10. How we protect information
We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, and destruction. These include encryption in transit (TLS), restricted access controls, vendor due diligence, and employee training. No system is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work hard to minimize risk.
11. Children's privacy
Our Service is intended for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@detectivedental.com and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site for at least 30 days. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
